Feel the Beat: Dhol Workshop
by the Punjabi Cultural Society

The Punjabi Cultural Society brought excitement to town with a lively Dhol Workshop. It was led by Master Suki, a well-known expert in Dhol drumming. This event took place on 15th April 2025.

Set in a lively and friendly atmosphere at the Omnia Auditorium at Menara BAC, the workshop explored the exciting beats of Punjabi folk music. Participants of all skill levels learned from one of the best in the field, starting with the basics of holding the sticks, called dagga and tihli. They then moved on to mastering traditional beats used in bhangra.

Master Suki, known for his dynamic teaching style and passion, guided attendees through both theory and hands-on practice. Whether those in attendance was a complete beginner or looking to refine their skills, the session offered something for everyone. The opportunity was well utilised by some or our staff and senior management team too.

This event wasn’t just about music, it was a celebration of culture, energy and community. Drummers left not only with new skills but also with a deeper appreciation of Punjabi heritage.

Missed it? Don’t worry—this is just one of many cultural experiences the BAC Punjabi Cultural Society has in store. Stay tuned for more workshops and do join them for events that keep tradition alive and thriving.
